Hasnt been actively updating it but once in a time must log in and write something. ( i scared i will forget the password.. haha)

Just submitted my neural project.. Super thanks to my partner who did a great job. Now left only 2 more projects, 1 econs and the cryptography assignment. This semester , i seem rather slow in the preparation for the exams. Can feel the stress and tension when i'm in the library already. Left 20 days to first paper, i still quite lazy.. argh.. dunno what i'm doing la..

Recently jus went JB , something like a short getaway trip. We went there around 6plus, having trapped in a jam along woodlands for nearly 45 mins. But surprisingly, the custom queue was so short compared to the last visit. That time, we queued up for nearly 1 and a half hour, sweating and pespiring. It was really a tiring experience ..
As usual, we headed to Holiday Inn for shopping spree. Bought some personal and food stuffs. The things there are half priced of what singapore is selling and some people do not mind the trouble of crossing over the causeway just to purchase some daily products.
At about 8plus, we went to have seafood dinner at the Da ma hua yuan. Dinner was free and fully sponsored by zq. Too bad kc has to work on saturday as he will definitely miss the fun and the food.

Pool session.. Hasnt been playing regularly since most of my kakis are working. Its like once a week or alternate wks, but i guess pool is a skill that someone cannot simply forget. Surprisingly, we can still win a few rounds having to play so little.. same goes to twee, kenny n
kf. Coping with school work and FYP are a great challenge. It's not easy. As for my FYP, i gonna come out with a super controller which can control diabetes. Suddenly becoming a medical person and understand all the biology terms, i should have taken up life science last time . My project is difficult because i have to derive all the equations (1st order, 2nd order deriative n more). I havent been touching them for a while but no choice have to make it happen. Ganbette. Must enjoy the utmost throughout the Japan trip. As for Nagoya and Kobe, kc and i planned that quite last minute. Our schedule was quite packed so we decided to squeeze this two places in one day. Morning half in nagoya and later half at kobe.

Morning 9am 1st july
We headed for Nagoya, the capital of Aichi Prefecture which is located in the heart of central Japan. Historiacally, Nagoya used to be a typical castletown of feudal Japan built in the 16th century. Took about 45 mins to reach from Kyoto( where we stayed) to Nagoya by Shinkansen.

Taken when we were on the bullet train. Beautiful Scenery!

Nagoya Castle
Upon reaching Nagoya station, it took us 10 mins to walk from the station to the Nagoya Castle.
It was constructed to secure an important position and to ward off attacks from the direction of Osaka.

Gollden Dolphin or Kinshachi. It's a symbol of the feudal lord's authority.

Near Nagoya Station. Symbol for the Aichi Expo. Here comes the bullet train!!

Afternoon 230pm
We set off to Kobe, the capital of Hyogo Prefecture, the foremost international port city in western Japan. Rainy days as usual, but that did not hinder us from fowarding.
The famous Kobe port and ferris wheel
Harbor Land where many shops and resturants are located there. There is a big ferris wheel
from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Kobe port and the ocean, especially at night.
Kc and i posing under the rain

Kobe chicken Kobe beef
And of course, we wouldnt forget to try the famous 'kobe beef'. Actually we came here just to try it. Haha, as for some of us including me who can't eat beef, theres always 'kobe chicken' for us. Quite surprisingly, when we were going to pay for our bills, the waitress actually spoke mandarin to us. Haha, its so difficult to find somebody who can speak mandarin in Japan.

On the left of the picture is the mosaic, a shopping and amusement complex located along the seaside. Temperature was as high as 35 degrees. Slightly similar to singapre except that Japan is less humid. Excited, excited.. This was the first time i being to Osaka. The airport is quite small though. 7 of us managed to retrieve our individual luggage easily and then we waited for the limousine bus to our first base, Fujiya Ryokan @Kyoto.
While waiting, we took a few pics at the airport.

Vending machine selling phone cards

 Kansai airport

The schedule for that day was rather simple. After we check in to our ryokan at Kyoto, we headed to our first stop, Kiyomizu temple. The approach to Kiyomizu temple is an attractive winding road lined with colorful souvenir and shophouses. It was a long journey and the temple is situated up on the hill. I am actually surprised when i saw a group of secondary school kids running up the hill to Kiyomizu. Totally amazed by their leg power.

Long Way to the Kiyomizu Temple

Kawaii students rinising their hands. Caught in action!

It started to rain on our way back from the temple. It's only the 1st day in Japan but nevertheless our morale was still high. As usual, only winnie and i brought our umbrella while the others just hope that we will share with them. The umbrella used by the local is rather unique. It's transparent in colour and looks quite cool.

My bento set dinner, Oishi desu ne!

Day 1: Nippon here i come

Day 1 was normal. Departure time of flight was at 2355 but i went back to sch to meet my fyp tutor during the day. That was the 2nd visit though, which i think its quite a headstart compared to the others. Lots of efforts and results expected from me, confirm have to slog and work hard for my final year already!
Reached home around late afternoon, took a nap, had my dinner and confirmed my packing list. Carrying a backpack and a sling bag, i headed to changi airport for departure. Destination Osaka. Nippon here i come!
Up on the plane, due to some communication problem, i was sitted away from my tour mates. (cause we checked in separately) Haha, luckily the plane was not full, i had the whole row of seats to myself. I can even put my bag on the seat beside me , the feeling was not that bad.
Think i mostly slept throughout the 6 hours journey, though i was fed with the latest movies like internal affairs 3 but i still fell asleep halfway watching it (just wanted to hear the original cantonese version). Didnt really like the air meals(dinner was provided) so i just ate abit and waited for the time to pass..

No.19

Finally, the attachment has ended. Everyone seems so excited about it, but I just feel normal maybe that’s due to my extension. Feeling restless and slacking at home, I rather go to work and earn some expenses for my Japan trip. Speaking about it, I just bought a haversack from the army market. It is quite big though, don’t wanna look like ninja turtle le. Decided to bring a haversack and a sling bag for shopping, hope tats enough to store all my goodies.
Haha, I found myself a favorite pastime , KTV. Sad to say, I only been to ktv thrice including this one. One was in my secondary school days while the second in jc days. This time I was forced to sing although initially I don’t really fond of the idea of going to ktv. My debut is fen shou kuai le (group version) by Fish Leong dedicated by ah twee, my greatest competitor. Didn’t really complete the song cause we kind of take turns to sing due to lack of time. We could only sing for 1 n a half hour cause the ktv is closed by 130am. As a whole, it was fun , just wondering when will the next one be held. Hahaha…
Talking about my jersey, I made my debut on Saturday. My friends n I were all ready for the big match taken place at Marina, but guess what happen. There were no opponents. Haha.. In the end, after half an hour of training at marina, we head to a basketball court near stadium to play street soccer. Haha, scored 2 goals with my No.19 jersey though 1 goal was a lucky shot. All thanks to my team mates!

Motivated to improve!

Yesterday the match was normal except that there were more people playing this time, joined by some jc students. After the match, i felt that i actually underperformed.. I can do better than that lo, jus that i need time to train up. More training on ball stopping, and shooting long balls.
I was quite inspired by one of my soccer mates. I was playing against him actually. He's probably in his 40s but he is those kind who can motivate and encourage people. I'm appreciate his encouragement. The conversation goes something like this in the midst of the game.
Fren: Seems like u quite scared of the ball.
Me: Not really, abit la.
Fren: U must have more self confidence. Must visualise yourself as a good soccer player, then u can kick well. Dun smile, jus go for the ball and be focused.
Me: ( i nod my head.)
Fren: Last time i was like you, cant play well. I actually train up playing in this field.

After that, the ball came to us and we started chasing it.

Give me some time and with the right techniques, i should be able to play better, just like playing pool. Now, everybody has improved but i'm still think i'm better. Hahaha... sometimes luck is not with me lo.

Argh, overstretched my muscles. Need to rest for a day to recover from it.
Ganbatte!

Nippon here i come!

Just came back from Orchard. It was quite crowded when i was on my way back home especially because of the June holidays and the Great Singapore Sale.. Hasnt bought any things from the GSS though. Hmm, am i lagging behind?
Something caught my eye today when i was walking down orchard road with my friends. Nowadays, companies do know to how maximise their advertising strategy usefully. Imagine how many part timers i saw today.. It was many though. Up walking to and fro on the street, hanging a big board round their neck with the company's product printed on it, i wonder how much are the part timers earning per hour? They were quite young though, about 16-18 years old i guess. Personally i feel quite embarrassed if i'm the one doing it. Hahaha...
In the afternoon, i went to pay up for the Japan trip. Everybody was late although we were supposed to meet up at 1230pm. I was late too (Hahaha..) For some of us, it was the first time we met each other( those going Japan) and everything came out to be fine. It was not very interactive though, only a short introduction and some short conversation. Maybe shy lo.. Probably will be able to know each other well when we are in Japan.

Stress.. Its ok for me though cause its better than staying at home slacking.
Went to meet my fyp professor recently. He's a nice guy though but abit strict and demanding. Haiz.. hav to work really really hard to get a acceptable grade. Hmm.. No pain no gain mah. I was quite inspired by one friend of mine, the conversation goes like this:
Me: Haiz, so much work to do. Gonna stay in school very late everyday, reaching home about 10pm. So stress Manz!
Friend: Aiya, final year already.. It was a exciting and simply unbelievable match. Liverpool has created history with his superb comeback in the 2nd half of the game. Down 3-0 in first half but yet managed to come back 3-3 in full 90 mins, and win 3-2 in penalties. Yeah, well done for liverpool and it has proven that nothing in this world is impossible if you try your best and not to give up easily!
Slept for 21/2 hours, i went to work. Body aching , legs feeling tense.... So cramped that i cant walk properly. It has been quite a while that i have kicked soccer. Remember the last soccer session was at the street soccer court near Yishun. Playing on the grass field at marina was not easy though, there was a couple of times i kicked the ball that nearly twisted my toes. Haha, unbelievable right. I'm just not used to playing on the field, but it was quite enjoyable(sprinting to and fro for the ball). Think i should consider kicking soccer every week if possible. Swimming on saturday and soccer on sunday, i will sure be very fit.
Pool session. Once again for the 2nd time, i was asked the same question by the security. "How old are u? You look very young." Inside my mind, i was thinking... Do i look that young , i have long passed the 18 years old age manz!! At most i look like 20 years old.
Yeah!! Finally tx was convinced by my pool skills. Always say that he's better than me in everything except driving test and I totally disagree with that. Although he managed to win at the start, but towards the end, i started to win.(thats called for celebration). The "WAh" and "Woah" can be heard with some of the shots that i made. You must be thinking that i'm bragging.. Haha, you must see to believe.

Happy Holiday!

Holiday, holiday.. i'm slacking at home. HmM, seems like there are slightly more than a month to my trip. I'm so looking foward to that. Have to enjoy first cause after that, there will be lots of work to be done. What else, but the final year project. Expecting to stay in the labs till late( about 10-11pm, thats the maximum i hope), rushing for tutorials and projects, and that's going to be tough year for all my fellow schoolmates. Haha, its the final lap for us though! Ganbatte ne!!
Actually cooking is not that hard too.. i tried it. It only took me less than 10 mins to cook a simple lunch(excluding the washing part). Although that's my first time to cook fried rice, but with the guidance of my mum, the result seems to be not that bad. Maybe 6 out of 10 rating. So proud of myself, hahaha.... Firstly, u need to warm the wok. Next to pour in the oil, then put the egg and ham(if u prefer) or any meat, and mix them together. After several minutes, put the leftover rice into it and add several seasoning into it. The warming fried rice is ready to be served. おいいし ですね。。

2nd Post.. Kick the Ball rolling!

WHat is weekends? To me, it is just 2 days of rest from work to rejuvenate myself. A typical saturaday will be like going for a swim with hy and yx( each time we try to swim for at least 20 laps) and then head on to Hougang or kallang for lunch. Yesterday was no exception.. except that we compete with one another in diving. Yx is the best(think he dive nearly for 25 metres) while i can only dive for about 15 metres or so.. Haiz, too short of breath, think practise makes perfect.. haha
Later in the late evening, i head for my usual activity which is pool. Hmm, only managed to win about 3 times. Quite out of form though, didnt manage to win much but i did enjoy the process of playing. The pool centre is mostly filled with teenagers ( probably around 14-15 years of age). Sighz.. i dont remember myself when i was a teenager playing pool, i was probably doing homework or playing nintendo at home loh. I only started to play when i was abt 19 years old.
At about 9pm, we headed for kc's house to watch the FA cup final. Sadly that arsenal did not win in 90 minutes time though they win on penalties, i feel that man u should have won the game. The number of shots on target for man u were like much much more than arsenal, some hit the post while some saved by their on-form keeper and midfielder. Simply unlucky for the red devils manz..
After the prize presentation, we headed home.. 疲れた ね。。。。。。

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lego99.blogspot.com/2005/05/2nd-post-kick-ball-rolling.html' title='2nd Post.. It's kind of new stuff to me, though i think that it can be quite interesting to note about the unusual happenings and of course any of my overseas trips. When i get old next time, it can serve as a remembrance.
Ok, lets get started.. ( haha.. my introduction not that longwinded right)
Its just simply about me, a guy who always like to joke around, some may find me joker at times, while some may see me as a quiet guy.. My favorite pasttime activities are swimming and pool( i'm improving man! Getting sharper and accurate.. Great satisfication with all those spectacular shots!). Though my friends may find me a bit thick skinned due to the fact that i often praise about my pool skills, i simply do not care abt it. Its just me, who on the earth does not like to receive compliments. Haha...
Swimming, the sports that i usually do once a week. Prefer swimming than jogging, because it trains the entire body and i feel more relaxed in the water. U can do so many things like enjoying the sun , swim 20 laps and chat with friends rather than just run that boring 6 laps. Always wonder why i was not selected for navy, sighz....
Almost forget about it! Watching japanese animation is another of my interest. I am currently hooked on bleach, naruto and gundam seed destiny. Bleach is the all time favorite, i personally give it a 5 stars *****. As for naruto ( the animation that i have been chasing ever since my first year of university) and gundam seed, they may be quite boring sometimes. I hate all those flashbacks, its so repetitive! Haha, i hope i can take photos with those animation characters( Cosplay) in japan next month. Looking foward to see the real life Inoue.. haha, those who watch bleach will know about her.
Single, single... nice gals are so hard to find. Sometimes it just so hard to take the initiative, though guys should be able to withstand rejection.
